The mountain lemon is actually known as Litsea cubeba and grows in the mountains of southern China. Its small berries have an intense aroma of lemongrass and lemon peel, without any sourness. Feuerwerk blends it with chili flakes to create a spice that is both spicy and surprisingly fresh. Sprinkled over fish, chicken, noodles or a cucumber salad, it brings brightness to any dish. In the glass jar with a cork and bow, it also makes a lovely gift.
